Andre Johnson, Cortland Finnegan Ejected for Fighting: Video”

By now you’ve seen the “fight” between Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson and Tennessee Titans Cornerback Cortland Finnegan. I say “fight” because Dre destroyed the mouthy and largely considered, dirty, Finnegan. The two see a lot of each other within the AFC South and Finnegan is known as one of the mouthiest and dirtiest players in the NFL.
The incident occurred during and after a 3rd-and-8 play from the Tennessee 41.

The players had pushed one another on the previous play, after which Johnson pulled Finnegan’s helmet from his headOn the 3rd-and-8 play, Finnegan – widely considered one of the NFL’s dirtiest players – immediately thrust his hands at Johnson’s face mask. The two fought throughout a seven-yard gain, with both players’ helmets coming off.

Johnson punched Finnegan twice after throwing Finnegan’s helmet. Officials then stepped in to separate the two.
While Finnegan did not speak to the media, Johnson quickly apologized for his actions.

“I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, my teammates,” Johnson said. “What happened out there (Sunday) wasn’t me. I just lost my cool. I wish that I can take back what happened, but I can’t. It’s over and done with now. I’m pretty sure I’ll be disciplined for it. When that times comes I’ll find out what it is and have to deal with it from there.”

Johnson said he and Finnegan had been going at it throughout the game, with Finnegan using extracurricular tactics often.
